On a brighter note, my front rotors were replaced cause they found the "judder" tsb during a test drive .... funny thing is, I am pretty sure it was already replaced 2 years ago but no complaints here lol.

Ill try to record a sound tonight.
That's frustrating, but I think you're on the right track!. In this type of situation, I would ALWAYS ask to demonstrate it to the mechanic directly (for avoiding just the kind of hassle you found).

btw, congrats on the free brakes

I am sort of pissed... spotted scuffing around the lug nuts on all 4 of my rims... gonna see how bad it is in day light and debate whether its worth complaining or not. This is the 2nd time they scuffed it up... last time it was so bad they had to refinish it on their dime... now here it is happening again although not as bad

Did you have the brake shields installed the first time?

It was part of the TSB to install a metal splash shield shroud around the back of the rotors to aid them thermally or some such.

^^^^also you should see the shield coming out from being the rotor almost all the way around, the original you wouldn't see.

That's a significant clunk all right. Assuming the engine is running fine, I'd be checking out engine driven accessories (alternator, power steering, AC compressor, belt tensioner).
