XM Radio Freezing

So, randomly I will start my car and the radio will be frozen, no sound and the stations wont change. If I change the radio to disc, or alternate the radio presets through A/B/C, it unfreezes and I get sound for CD, AM, and FM. XM will stay frozen until I turn off the car and let it sit for a while, if I restart right away its usually still dead. I have had this problem every few days for a couple weeks now. Any ideas what it could be, radio hardware or software? Can the software be updated? I'm kind of worried I can not imagine the radio is cheap...

I have this same problem! It's driving me crazy. Did you figure out a solution yet?

I believe there is a separate and remotely located satellite tuner (under the rear deck maybe) that could possibly be acting up. If that's where the problem is, that could explain why everything else works ok.

Not sure, I was thinking maybe i was getting condensation somewhere, we had a generally mild winter but it would drop down in temperature some nights. It was almost always after real cold that it happened. It hasn't happened in about 2 months and overall it has been very dry and unseasonably warm. Its been more humid this week but not cold and its not come back. The radios in these cars seem to be a bit sketchy, there seems to be a quite few complaints against them. Mine has been working more normally lately, XM seems fine, but the CD changer will randomly cycle and make noise and then tell me to eject the disc, even when I am listening to the radio. Happens about once a week. Seriously not expecting that from a Japanese car.
