VDC Light

Morning...
I have a question before I call the dealer... I was on my way to work this am, and as I'm driving the VDC light and slip light came on.... Weird! I try to turn it back on but the switch wasn't responding. I pulled over turned off car n restarted and light went away, I than press the VDC button again and it worked like regular... Any thoughts?

I say check your brake fluid and tell us if you have any other problems after that.

Well... I checked brake fluid, and yes! It was low... I topped it off... I guess I wait now to see what happens? If it comes back on... Should I take it to the dealer?

when the fluid is low it could also mean that its time to change your brake pads. i would check that too

^ whs, filling up the fluid is a temp solution, u may be low on pads and also get the rotors looked at, and the light should not come back on until the level drops again.

x2

99% of the time, if your brake fluid is low enough to trip the light then your Brake pads are low as well

Hey guys, while it's obviously true that it means the pads are worn, I actually have found that the warning light symptoms come of WAAAAAAY too conservatively. From my experience, you certainly want to check things out, but if you top off your fluid, you could very well have another 10-15k+ miles(or about a year) of pad life remaining.
