Best launch?

Hey I have a 08 X sedan and I was wondering how I can get the best launch off the line for my car. Ive tried searching for some info but to no avail. Can't wait to hear what is to be said.

Ya I was looking for the same info... But couldn't find anything.
When I was at the track I tried revving it to about 1500 to see if the cat liked it but it didn't seem to at all. The car took off a lot slower.

After playing with a few other combinations, my best runs of the night were all done with tcs off and no revs just mash the gas. I would lose traction a bit in first and a bit in second but I was very consistant.

I have since had people tell me to rev it up to over 2k and launch like that but havnt been back to try

When I had a G37 rental, I took it to the strip times.

My best 60'ft was power braking mainly to get a jump off the line and so that I wouldn't roll through the beams.

I would get 2.0 60ft's consistently with crappy Eagle RSA's tires at 35psi.

I just hated the auto trasmission. Look how slow it is to react when I race the BMW. You can hear the click when I shift and then about 1 second later, it shifts. WTF. I had to shift about 1k rpm before redline to give the transmission enough time to react before redline.

I've got a 6MT, but occasionally get to drive a 5AT. When I do, I am always perplexed by the delay in manual shifting with the paddles vs. when the actual shift occurs. Not having enough time in one to calibrate my inputs to the car for best results, I've found just using the DS mode seems to work very well.

1/8 mile is what we have in San Diego.

We can have anywhere from 30-50 runs in one night there. More practice off the tree and off the line.

Our 1/4 mile track is in Fontana, which is a 2 hour drive and we MAY get 3-4 runs in an entire day.

The difference between the 1/8th and a 1/4 is (1) ONE gear change and only 25mph. That's it. Not worth driving 2 hours for 3-4 runs.

I post these for people to see, but if you have any drag racing videos of your G to share of your own at a legal event, by all means post it. I would like to see them.

in an Auto, especially Nissan, you can raise your foot momentarily and then floor it to force a gear change when you "paddle-shift".
