I've got my best times in DS with VDC off and power braking to 2k as others have stated above.
I will be heading to Cecil County Dragway on March 31st and even though I've added about 50 lbs to the car, I'm fairly sure I can lower my previous ET of 13.79 @ 100. I'll also be trying to improve my trap speed by locking in manual 3rd to avoid an upshift just before the finish line.

Put a shift kit in the valvebody and most of the lag goes away. I have it on mine. Gear changes are great now. Of course it's a beast when the tranny is cold. It's a kick to the head when it shifts on a cold transmission.

What was your 60'?
And I was trapping 99 all day, so I'm guessing your just launching way better than me.

And also what is the difference between d and ds?

Your trap speed is a little low. Is it because of the AWD? Cecil is a fast track so you should be trapping over 100.

The awd gets grip so the trap is usually a little lower

You know what I'm saying, does the car change maps, shift differently, lock up tq converter sooner, hold revs longer?

I think it primarily stays in gear longer between up shifts. Also something about rev matching on down shifts. Up to '06 didn't have that feature from what I know.

I can only tell the difference between D and DS at part throttle with DS being more responsive. In DS, the tranny will hold the revs up as you let out while approaching a turn, for example. It will still be in lower gear, waiting for you to apply power to exit the turn. I also found that tapping the brakes hard enough in DS will force a downshift, blipping the throttle as expected. I'm not 100% sure of the differences between D and DS at wot though. So I just leave it in DS at the track.
I trapped at 100 while running at Mason Dixon Dragway. Cecil has always been at least 2 tenths quicker than Mason Dixon for myself and my firends, although this will be the first time for the G running there. They have better track prep too. I expect to get a 13.65 @ 103+ with locking the car in 3rd at Cecil. The ET difference will be caused by the track, while the trap speed should go up due to not wasting acceleration time during the 3-4 upshift. All this, while fingers crossed, of course.

I've been pleasantly suprised at how well DS will hold a lower gear when you accelarate hard and then let off, and how it downshifts with hard braking. Huge difference vs. D. The first thing you'll notice is it will let you wind out 1st gear on a takeoff, vs. the early upshift when in D.
