The problem i was talking about
So i have been searching the forum non stop for the issue that i was trying to explain in a previous post but not many of the members knew what i was talking about, figured someone by now has figured something out since the last post was around 2009. Here is the link to the topic being discussed on how once you let go of the gas, you feel the car slow down (usually in traffic, like when at a stop, you cruise up to 30-40 and let go and you immediately feel like it isnt coasting as it should be, thus using up more gas to push it forward)

I've noticed this as well when driving in rush hour situations... It happens minimally but when it does it makes me wonder. I'm thinking that the ecu may be adjusting to the stop and go etc. That's all I could come up with, and I think its less noticeable in the 37's because of the new tranny

I've experienced such 'engine braking' and while I do not enjoy holding the gas down a little just to get that coasting feeling (rather than a light braking), I thought it was natural for my V36. I may take it in to get checked out in addition to the transmission lag i sometimes experience.

My thoughts exactly!! But shouldnt it relearn the driving habits after an ECU reset or do you mean its been learning it for too long? I really hope someone finds out what is causing this or maybe a TSB because many people have the same issue, probably an ecu update?

I did the gas pedal ecu reset and it drove without a problem for like a day or two and then went back to the same way it was. IT felt so good letting go of the gas and it would roll with ease, maybe try the reset again and try not to drive aggressively and let it coast alot to let it learn ?

I have the exact same issues with my 08 G35x. I have only had the car for 3 months and I came from a car with a manual-6 which is probably making the problem more noticeable. What I find myself doing is shifting into neutral a lot when I am transiting from a high speed to a lower speed but don't need to stop (i.e. going from a 55 mph zone to a 30 mph zone). If I don't shift to neutral, my car goes from 55 to 30 very quickly by itself and I feel that I am then wasting gas as I have to then apply gas to maintain 30, where as if I shift to neutral, I can coast for a long time between 55 to 30 without using any gas.
