Upgrading Bose speakers 2007 G35x

This may be a stupid question, but are the front and rear speakers powered from the HU or through the bose amp? If I am replacing my front and rear speakers, do I need to run speaker wire from the speakers stock locations to the amp? I plan on tapping a LOC into the system and running it to the amp I'm just not sure where to tap.

U could possibly get away without running new wire , but your new high powered speakers will want more current and probably wouldn't sound as good as they should . U will need more than a LOC for the mid and high speakers , u will need a sound processor and some crossover. I'm not sure on splicing before or after amp , but I would guess after the amp since it processes what frequency goes to what speakers .
