Cool 2nd intelligent key for my 07 G

I need a 2nd intelligent key for my new 07 G35s. Only got one in the sale.

I've read through some posts on this. I plan to get a key from ebay and I called a dealer
who will program it for $60. Problem is the parts guy told me to be really sure that the
key is the correct one because if you do not buy the key from the dealer they will charge
the $60 even if the program doesn't work.

So my questions are:
- Is this a correct key that will correctly take an 07 G35s program?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/UNCUT-INFINI...edc6c1&vxp=mtr

So total this runs me ~$108 to get a 2nd key..

- Does anyone know a cheaper locksmith or dealer in the San Jose, CA. area that can do this?

Thanks in advance!

Mick

after a quick glance at the ebay add. It states that the key doesn't have the transponder chip in it, so it will not start your car.

^ the key seems fine but the best way is to check the FCCID on your current key and see if it matched with the given ffcid:KR55WK48903 in the ad, thats the only way of knowing if its compatible with your car

I think the ad was saying the key blank doesn't have a chip? If so, they never did.

I may have misread it.. Regardless I would call a local locksmith and see what they charge.. I'd help you out if you were in the Chicagoland area

When I got a second/spare inteligent key for my 06, they said that both keys needed to be reprogrammed for them to both work. I never did try the new key to see if it would start my car.

Angry Right on the key having no chip

Yep, your right. No chip.

Will have to keep looking and confirm with ffcid:KR55WK48903

Thanks,

Mick

The key will most likely work if it is functional. I-keys for the V36 came out in the 2007 model year. They have always been interchangeable. The only thing I'd really be concerned about is that there WAS a recall on them a few years back. Even though dealers were supposed to destroy the returned I-keys, I'm sure it didn't always happen. Basically, be sure you are not buying a recalled I-key. There is a thread here showing how to ID the recalled ikey by looking at the markings on the circuit board.

A lock smith most likely will NOT be able to program the ikey. Only Nissan / iInfiniti dealers with CONSULT computer system AND software license to program the car. Note that the car is actually programmed to accept the key so all keys have to be present during the programming process. I believe up to four keys can be paired to the car.

This one looks more promising. FCC # matches and can't find a mention of no transponder.

That's a good point checking if the key is a recall. Send an email to the dealer my last key selection on ebay. See what happens....

Even if it is a recall key the dealer should take it back and replace it under the recall right?

Unless they kept track of serial numbers or something like that.

I just bought a key fob from this guy today. I'll let you know if it works out.

Hi I just got my 07 g35 coupe and also searching for a 2nd key. Online I found these instructions to program a key fob, can anyone verify if this is correct or incorrect?

1. Close and lock all doors with the drivers side power lock/unlock switch.
2. Insert key into ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder at least six times within 10 seconds. Your Hazard
Lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. NOTE: Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder
each time. If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.
3. Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ACC position.
4. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the remote transmitter. Your Hazard Lamps should flash. NOTE: Do not press
the button more than one time in the above step. If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming
procedure will not be successful.
5. If there are any remaining transmitters (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the drivers side
power lock/unlock switch and within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your Hazard Lamps should
flash. Repeat this step for each transmitter (including any existing transmitters).
6. Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition, unlock doors using the drivers side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.
