Break Squeal

^^ What kool says is very true.
If you are looking for a bargain, you may have to do some haggling with the service rep. In theory, you should be able to state what service you want performed, and have them quote a price to do it on a time and material basis; no diagnosing involved. However, if that doesn't fix it, you'll have zero leverage to making them fix the problem that you didn't let them diagnose in the first place. To just replace the pins, I can't see a justification for milking it for more than an hour, and come to think of it, the labor to perform the tsb is probably listed in the tsb documentation, though it may be coded. Anyway, they really shouldn't charge more than an hour plus the parts. They could rape you on the parts costs though. I've seen some ridiculous parts costs from some dealers. It all depends. Good luck, and let us know how it goes.

Let Infiniti service diagnose the problem.
- If it turns out that the problem falls within the scope of the TSB (warranty also required) then you don't pay for anything, including the diagnosis fee.
- If the diagnosis turns out be be unrelated to the TSB, well, now at least you know what the problem is and you can take the steps needed to make repairs. Get a copy of the diagnosis and a quote from the dealer. Then I would take it elsewhere for another quote, showing them the Infiniti diagnosis.

^ since i think he said he's out of bumper-to-bumper warranty he will have to pay for it even if its TSB like u said.
OP if you dont have a local mechanic that can change out the pins for u then letting them diagnose is better since they will have to make sure the cure the problem to charge u in full

Well took in my car today for the squeaking... ummm they didn't call back, so I'm assuming its more than just squeaking ..... ill find out tomorrow.
I had the rotors replaced already cause of the "judder"/warping issue... the service rep said it can happen again even with the new rotors I have been driving on. Is this possible? Are oem rotors this bad?

^whs stock rotor are low to moderate grade, there are a few things you can do to prolong rotors life...
Make sure the wheels are properly torqued to 80ft/lbs and not more(yes over tightening has been shown to hasten rotor warpage), let brakes cool down before spraying them with water when washing your car/wheels, get ceramic pads(they are more gentle on your rotors than the semi-metalic ones) and obviously avoid hard braking.
Keep us posted on what they say, sometimes they dont call back when they have been busy and havent got a chance to check your car out properly

So I took in my G a couple weeks back. They diagnosed my braking squeal and came back with NOTHING. I didn't mention anything about the TSB as you guys recommended. They said the brakes looked fine. They said they could resurface the breaks for $200 each pair ($400 total). Obviously, they said this wouldn't guarantee it would fix the squeal.
Any thoughts? Should I take it elsewhere - ask Infiniti about the TSB? Get my brakes resurfaced and cleaned somewhere else? I know there are a number of places who should be able to do that for much less.

Yes, it consisted of resurfacing the breaks and cleaning the rotors. Though, I'll double check with the papers they sent back with me.
