Talking Weekend road trip

So, we decided to take a road trip to Kenner,Louisiana for my wife's birthday. Here are a few pics of the G getting all prepped up for the trip.

Nothing wrong with protecting the front end from small rock chips. This also saves the pain from cleaning up the bugs from the front end that can be harmful to the paint. I used to do all the time when driving from SD to SF.

The other solutions are buying a clear bra or for a more temporary solution, Road Wrap. http://www.buyroadwrap.com/

Yeah, I just installed my front lip,so I am trying to protect the paint as much and reduce the cleaning up when we return. I was impressed on how fast I covered the front end. There were times when I hit 100 mph and the tape held on.

cover it up with some black plastidip to blend it in and it will be very easy to remove and not look too odd

Yeah, if you are going to drive I-10 through Louisiana, that, and raising it back to stock ride height aren't bad ideas...

I don't think it could get much tackier than that. Chips don't accumulate after 1,000 miles, they accumulate after 50,000 or 100,000 miles.

I have actually never seen anyone do that! ...well, maybe when they transport a new car but after several years, a chip here or there from one trip doesn't faze me.

FYI a guy on one of the other boards I'm on used this stuff to drive his newly purchased Viper about 1000 mi home and when he got home and pulled it off it left some nasty gluse residue. He needed to take it to a detail place to clean it up. YMMV

I've seen people do this when taking their car to be showcased at an event but never for someone taking a leisure road trip. Hmm...

I did the same thing when driving from Mia to DC, the two time I got pulled over for speeding the cops make smart *** comments as they gave me the tickets. But hey it works and it only cost $6
