IMO by far one of THE best cars to get sideways in! Coupe or hatch, either one works well. Hatch is a lot more weight balanced almost 50/50 weight ratio. Either way both are small and lightweight. I used to own a green S13 Coupe with the JDM front end conversion I did myself.. Began drifting it when it was an automatic later converted to 5 spd (search foreverdr1ft @ Youtube to watch my cage & po-po video)
couple pics from Friday's drift practice session. The track was watered down which was a good thing cause my new 285mm T1R's in the back had a **** load of traction. They tires were pretty fat (couldn't find ANY 275's in the size i wanted) so they were actually rubbing the fender when the car swayed. It was also my first time drifting on a wet track so it was pretty good. Engine still getting up to around 108C after each short session, but then again it was 120F ambient and half the cars were overheating LOL

Q8y_drifter, how easy is it to drift the sedan, compared to the coupe or late model Z, if you compared before? Mine is lowered on Eibach Sports which feels very active, easy to kick out the rears. I'm on the Hankook Evo 12s, nice overall street tires. This V36 is my daily and feels very different on oversteer compared to my tracked E46 M3.
Don't know how it is compared to a 1st gen coupe, but compared to a 350z, it's definitely heavier and feels less agile and "toss-able" in transitions. FYI my G is a 5AT, so the absence of a hand brake and proper trans doesn't help either. The E46 M3 will prolly feel on par with the 350Z although slightly different. My next drift session will involve skinny 225mm rears and i'll be removing the spare and such for more oversteer and less RPM to reduce trans and engine wear.
