Type of GAS

I've had the car for only a few days and WOW, amazing car to drive, however I do notice the huge diff in fuel consumption as opposed to my old civic and accord.

The first fill up I used Premium gas. Should I always be using the highest or second highest grade gas available ? Does it protect the engine ? anyone with experience can shed some light will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Premium gas helps the car get the most efficiency/horsepower available. Going lower the car will lose performance and MPG, so you won't see a significant difference in cost anyways since you'll have to use more lower grade gas to get the same amount of miles.

Also, using lower grade gas can subject the engine to knocking/pinging, so I wouldn't recommend it.

This type of question gets asked almost weekly. If you search for 'Premium/Gas/Fuel/Mileage' you can find dozens of threads discussing gasoline.

every 3rd fill up i use reg... reg won't hurt the car if you did it everytime IMO

But you may get worse MPG with 87..but the price diff would probably offset it becasue it won't be major
