Infiniti is reportedly dropping the Infiniti G25 models for the 2013 year.

I'm glad the G25 is getting dropped...the price/performance ratio was not worth it and the gas savings was minimal! I would prefer an Acura TSX if I were in the market for the G25...

I see a ton of G25s down here, but I think the biggest enemy is the JX being FWD lol

A Infiniti G replacement? I'm confused, what's next?

There's no Infiniti G replacement, they're just eliminating the G25 models from the lineup and keeping the G37 models.Originally Posted by Footballmania32

I consider the experiment with the G25 an identity crisis, trying to develop a reputation for fuel economy so they can convert some of the Acura/Lexus drivers who are clearly willing to pay for middle-class luxury but are more concerned with MPG than their 0-60 time.
Really hard to shoehorn an economy car in a lineup full of sport/luxury or luxury/sport vehicles.... it just never fit in with the family.

Agreed, i think the G25 was a wash. Went to the dealer and a mint 1 y/o G37x w/ 10k miles was slightly less that a new G25x. I was willing to sacrifice the 10k cuz im sure the reseal for a 37 would be way higher.

JX is FWD?!! WHat? I used to hate it but I've seen a few in person and they look pretty good I say! But since they are FWD I would never consider buying one ever!
I actually thought they were gonna replaced the G25 engine with some little turbo charged engine!

G25 is an underpowered car with terrible MPG for a car of it's class anyway. Smart move.

The little turbo is probably correct starting with the redesign at some point as Nissan and MB are in a joint venture to produce engines for both manufacturers including the MB 4 cylinder turbo that's in the lowest model C Class. My mother in law has one and I've driven it a fair amount. It actually feels a lot like the G25 which I took for a long test drive. Not too surprising as the G25 has a bit more HP and the MB has a bit more torque. Both certainly give up notable performance to the G35/G37. My guess is very few that use this site will have any interest. I might depending on price point. Gotta give me more than 2k or so price break.Originally Posted by salvador312

Happy to see it go. Test drove one and all I could think of was "what a turd". I don't care what anyone says. Luxury without performance only goes so far. You need performance AND luxury to make these cars fun.

the G25 is like a BMW 325i and the c230...cars that people buy for the name brand and not really care about the drive/performance/comfort
