exhaust upgrade
exhaust upgrade
So i just bought and installed my Greddy spectrum elite exhaust for my 2008 G35 sedan. Anyways after installing it doesn't sound loud enough so im thinking of buying a y-pipe or some HFC's and of course i want to keep it smog legal i live in Cali. What should i get? Need some input...
Thanks didn't know that. If thats the case i'll just throw some test pipes on. I installed the greddy exhaust to the stock y-pipe(that thing is small compared to the new resonators and mufflers). I just want the exhaust tone louder.
Don't worry about it, HFC or test pipes just do it but make sure you hang onto your stockers for inspection time lol
Just keep in mind that test pipes will stink, rasp, and soot up your bumper as well as most likely throw a CEL.
You'll definitely want to get an uprev reflash afterwards to maximize the gains (I've seen cars actually lose power with test pipes before they get tuned) and take care of those codes.

On Jan 1st, 2013 they are removing the tailpipe test from what I've read/heard. There is still visual and scan test. If this is correct, couldn't you run HFC? It would pass visual as they are still technically cats right?

It really doesn't make since for them to do it anymore, any new car is way above the limit, and the older cars are slowly dying off... sooner or later its just going to be clean running cars, except for the guys who spend loads of money souping their car up and making some "bad emissions;" the govt should just be glad they're helping out the economy and spending all that money, lol
