Dash peeling (PASSENGER SIDE)

Hey guys,
As I was taking the g into the dealer for service today I noticed a stand of hair on the dash where the passenger faces. Well I reached to brush it off and my nail caught a peice of the dash and what do you know it peels right off. Then I for some odd reason test it further and noticed basically the whole dash scratches right off. Of course I didn't worsen tthe situation but wanted to bring this up for futher references (if possible). I usually use armorall for the dash and didn't think I would run into this problems. The G can't handle the Texas heat :/.
Anyone else notice this issue? I will try to take a pic when I get the car back. It's not noticeable until you really scope it out.

post a pic when possible, first time im hearing of this, also you will see many ppl tell you not to use armorall because it is known to dry out the dash in the past not sure if they changed or not.

btw wat are the high temps in your area nowadays?

Lol good one sal! Kool_year: I dont know if I ever want to touch it again... Literally, small peices of the dash got stuck under my nails. As for the heat it's brutal hot 104 is our high if not hotter and doesn't get much cooler at night either (maybe mid 90's). I've used armorall and black magic with an applicator pad very gently applied even with the sun visor.
I'll get some pics up soon hopefully when I get the g back in one piece lol!

I have never heard of this happening either.
Is there a chance that a previous owner painted the dash?
If it's all original then that may confirm many peoples suspicions about Armor All.

I don't think it's been repainted mainly because I would have noticed the unusual earlier. It's not paint that's chipping off instead the actual matierial (in solid form if you keep irritating the problematic areas.)

Same thing happened to me while i was cleaning the dash. I will say that Armor All actually hurts the dash rather than helps it. But yeah i accidentally scratched mine, then like you, scratched it again to see if that really just happened lol. It was scratching like styrofoam would or something. Really weird. FYI Meguire's VLR (vinyl, leather, rubber) works good on the dash and amazing on the seats. I've actually started using it on my tires too. Makes them black without giving a greasy look or splattering up on the car.

I've heard from many that Armor All tends to damage interior components more than it helps them, although I've never personally confirmed this. Post pics if you can!

Will do when I get the car back... you wont be able to tell that much simply because I didn't continue scratching. I will try my best to get a detailed pic of the small area. I'm curious as to what I can do to remove it without further damage. SOB! lol

Mine isn't cracked, but it is sticky also! I've tried cleaning products and NOTHING works. It's only in certain spots though. Very frustrating. If i'm using a rag to wipe the dash in those spots it will have pieces of the rag stuck to it. WTF? Thats actually how i accidentally scratched it in the first place, trying to remove the crap that got stuck to it lol. I still have warranty, wonder if this would be covered? Technically theres nothing "wrong" with it, they'd probably try to say I spilled something on it.

I have a 07. so if u have an 08.. get it replaced.. The spots u have not will decrease and it will turn into the whole dash. I even put a light tint on the front windshield to see if that helps NOPE! It didn't do anything.. anything u clean it with will not work.. I thing it's a defect with the material that was used when covering the dash. Good luck with it and let me know what the busters say when u take it back to the dealership.. "u spilled kool-aid on it" hehehe
