new member here

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a 2008 G35 sedan silver w/ 30k mi. looks awesome.
I was first hesitant to buying it because the interior was in bad condition.
the steering wheel was all scratched, paint chipped, leather worn down, shifter all worn, door panels scratched...

It was thanks to this forum I learned about the common issues and solutions, which gave me the confidence to buy with no problem.
then I contacted my local dealer and they replaced all the parts with no questions asked (under warranty still).
I have few more things to replace: driver seat foam (above the seat controls) is flattened, and the passenger window is still making a noise going up. waiting for the seat delivery.
then it should look and feel like new.

I've owned a few BMWs, ('98 328is, '01 328i, '01 528i )and I do love them. theyre all solid cars. but the cost to maintain is not something I loved.
So far, I love the G35. the suspension and brakes are not as I like 'em on the bmw's, but the power in this thing is a beast. still getting use to it, and loving every part of the way.

this forum is awesome! and there's so much to learn here.
thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and experiences to helping newbs like me be better informed and enjoy the G.

Looks like you found a great car! Awesome that the dealer stepped up and corrected those issues you had and you can enjoy your G looking almost as good as new. What are your plans?

Yeah, I'm impressed with the service so far.
At this point, the "bug" hasnt bit me too bad. so will hold off for now.
If and when I do mod it, it will be more subtle kind.
Like I really like the way those plasti-Dip matte black paint came out on some members posts here. so when I get brave enough, I'd like to black out the grille and rear lip. ( not a fan of chrome )

congrats duk, I also was a bmw convert due to high maintainence cost. I wouldn't suggest plasti-dip the front just because after a while due to highway driving the paint begins to come off a little and its just a drag to take off the grille and do it again. I would suggest going on ebay and searching for the oem blackout grille sold by many infiniti dealer ebay stores but that's just imho
