Nope, can't say I have, but I can say that the ONLY vehicle I've ever owned (and I've owned quite a few) that had any issues with the MAF was one in which the previous owner had installed a K&N filter. Periodically, I'd have to clean the MAF to clear the faults that were ultimately caused by contamination on the wire. Eventually, I replaced their "Lifetime Filter" with a simple Wix oem equivalent, and it's been fine now for years. You are correct that you do make your choices, and as far as I'm concerned, the most impressive thing about K&N filters is their marketing.
