Who has had their bottom seat cushion replaced?

Hey All,

Just had the car in just before the warranty expired for a lumpy seat cushion which they replaced the foam under warranty. Upon pickup inspection, the carpeting that comes down from the seat back and wraps around the foam is not tight and you can see the foam clear as day at the corner. Had the service writer come out to inspect it and gave me some excuse stating that "These never fit right after the seat foam gets installed". He did say they would look at it next time I am in for my next oil change.

In my optinion, it looks like garbage (I'll snap a pic later). I know I should of left it there, but I needed to get back to work. Is there anything I can do to try to fix it?

^ I would say give it a chance for everything to settle into place.
Similarly - I had the seat back cover replaced and initially it looked like crap. It was loose and like it wasn't fitting properly. After about 2 weeks its settled and looks as good as the original.

Edit: Any pics? just noticed your 'snap a pic later' comment

Thanks for the reply. I'll wait it out. Just wanted to know if this happened to anyone else who had their seat cushion replaced.

Well, I was able to take a closer look after work and it looks like it's the product of half assed warranty work. The material that covers the foam was pulled up at the corners exposing the foam. I just had to dig my finger in there and pull the cover back over the corners. Bam..Fixed.

As for the carpet that wraps around it, that is held onto the frame by to stips of elastic with a hook on the end. The reason it won't get flush is because they ran the cable for the seat back heater behind it. Not sure if that's how it's supposed to be but I doubt it.

I'm ok with it now, but I will have them re-route the cable next time I'm in.

Glad it was an easy fix for you.
I would call Infiniti C.A.. Why should they pay the dealer for a warranty repair claim if you, the consumer, had to fix the dealers shoddy workmanship?

I won't go that far, but I will be honest on the customer survey.

That's another good way to handle it. They usually get feedback from those pretty quickly.
I know that my dealership is always conscientious of those surveys. Before I leave the dealership, they always ask me if I am satisfied and if I will give them a good review. Fortunately I have always been able to say yes.

Yup. They usually do great work and I've always praised them. My service writer received some award from Infiniti for 2012 for excellent customer service. He actually gave me a free oil change this time around as a Thank You for the surveys. Unfortunately this one won't be as stellar.
