Cold Cranking Amps required for 08 G?

So my stock battery is 4.5 years old, and the other day it was cold and I could see it was struggling a lil. I am gonna go buy a new battery from Costco, and I also found the DIY for battery replacement, but what I cannot find is the CCA required... the manual does not have it listed.

Does anyone know?

Is it bad if I get a CCA higher than the required? (Ie. Fry the car?)

Thanks!

Just get the battery Costco lists for your car and you'll be fine. A higher CCA rating will not fry the car. The spec is just a rating of it's capability, not what it automatically puts out. It will only output what your car's system asks of it; anything else will just be a 'reserve' capability. I don't know the stock CCA rating without searching for it, but I suspect it's around 650 or so.

EDIT: Ok, I just looked it up for you in the FSM (page: PG-100). The stock battery is listed at 582 CCA. My guess is the Costco replacement WILL be higher; likely 600 or more.

Awesome! Thanks!

I'm sorta surprised that this battery lasted so long...

And I also find it hilarious the stealership charges 60 bucks to test and clean terminals on a battery...lol

I'm still on my original battery after 5-1/2 years and it's still starting just fine. I don't know if it's made the difference or not, but I have maintained electrolyte levels over the years with distilled water. As it stands, I have no intention of replacing it until it gives me reason to.
