Did you ever check to see if you were low on oil before they changed it?

 

That was one of the first things i checked, because it was one of the things that came up quite a few times on the forum in a search i did before posting my thread. The oil level was fine.

 

THat makes little sense, if any, then.
Were you using the wrong viscosity oil, or had gone wthout a change for so log that the current oil had broken down so horribly that it caused a radical change in lubrication? Otherwise, I just don't see how it could have been the source of the problem. My guess is that there's either more to this story, or the "fix" was coincidental in some way.

 

I had similar problems but my strange sound was coming underneath the driver's side tires. Just got it fixed from the dealer under warranty!
