Strange buzzing like noise in the front end of the car

I've tried searching for threads describing the same problem, but but i didn't find a thread that quite described my same problem... I did however continuously see you guys telling the thread starter to upload a video, so that i did... I'm not sure how well you can hear the noise in the video, but the noise is like a buzzing / gnat in your ear type of noise. It's constant, whether i'm driving or the car is parked, but it's not always there.

With The AC off. The noise isn't a constant noise. It comes on and off, but it's on more often than it's off. The noise just began appearing about a week ago.

That sure doesn't sound normal to me.

Does it vary with rpms?

Does it do it with everything turned off but the engine? (Headlights, stereo, climate system, etc.)

It stays constant no matter the rpms.

It does it in both scenarios...

I just came home(the noise was there), came into the house, red this message and went right back outside to check.. The noise wasn't there when i restarted the car, so I sat there for a minute or two and tried revving up the engine to get the sound to come back on, but it wouldn't. So i decided to take a quick spin around the block and that's when the noise came back on.

SO you are saying it makes this noise even while the engine is NOT RUNNING ?? (scenario #2)

If the pitch doesn't change when you raise the rpms the only thing i could think of would be the fans..Its either on or off. do another video with the hood popped up.

Oh no, i read it wrong.. Sorry... No, the noise isn't present with the engine off.. I found another video on the site though with a simliar problem it it seems.. Say's that he just changed the oil and the noise stopped. Does it sound like the same noise to you?

Simliar??

It would be fairly easy to isolate those fans too I would think. Locate the electrical plug and disconnect it while it's making the noise and see if it stops.

As for as changing the oil, if you have reasonable oil level in your car, then I can't see any reasonable way that could explain it. I know on some of the newer Nissan four-bangers, they can make a heck of a racket in the valve train if the if oil level is allowed to get low, but even then you have to be REAL low.

It's a odd one to be sure and harder to do over the internet. You might search around for some kind of auxiliary valve or solenoid or something that may have gone off the deep end.

That last video has me wondering about the clutch on the AC compressor, but then it should vary in frequency when you rev the motor, so IDK.

One thing I did notice though, was that it seemed to be localized. When you moved the camera, the sound location seemed to change. Have to done any really careful searching around under the hood to further isolate the location of the noise?

New here. My 08 G35 sedan also makes this same noise. Has me wondering. But I notice mine only does it on colder mornings, or at least that's when i notice it.

Update.... As the earlier video suggested, all i did was get an oil change yesterday morning and my 2 air filters needed replacing, and the noise hasn't been back since.
