HIDs flickering?

So when the headlights first turn on. They flicker sometimes for the first 3-4 min then stop. They also do it when i hit bumps. But not all the time. Is one about to go?

Sounds like your ballast is on its way out.

Problem is i can't tell which one. How long do these usually last? Car is an 07 with 80K on.

Hard to replace on my own? It's only about 3-4 flickers in those 3-4 min

Honestly it's really hard to say how long they really last but it shouldn't be too hard to replace once it goes out.

I think both of them are doing it..but not 100%. Would it flicker over bumps in the road if a bad ballast?

I'm not sure if I have the same problem, but mine isn't really flickering. My problem is that the bulb is "dancing" in the housing when I go over bumps. I doubt both your ballasts are going out at the same time like that. Have you changed your bulbs recently?

After I changed my bulbs, the bouncing started, but very slightly. They also "bounce" during idle since the car is vibrating slightly but goes away. I have a feeling that your problem isn't really a problem at all, just a normal characteristic.

nope...don't think bulbs have ever been replaced. 80 K miles in an 07. But over pretty good bumps the lights flickers or seem to move in the housing..need to check they arn't coming loose
