Wassap guys I have a problem water has gotten into my passenger side headlights and has fryed everything.. took it to the dealer and apparently i need a new a whole new assembly and they quoted me 1400 dollars to fix it.... can't believe this is not covered under my warranty. does anyone know anything i can do? like perhaps take it to a body shop have the reseal the headlight and just get new HIDS? i really need a cheaper option.

There is a DIY on headlight removal either in the DIY forum or on myG37. You will need to remove the bumper and a couple of bolts holding the headlight in. Kind of a pain but very doable.
I'm curious if there was ever any work done on your headlight? Had anyone ever changed a bub in it? or had it ever been bumped in an accident or something? As mentioned above, you can definitely find a replacement for a fraction of that quote you got, or depending on the nature of the leak, possibly even reseal it yourself with a bit of work.
There must be a reason for the water getting into your headlights. Someone either changed out the HID bulbs and did not seal it properly or it has been into an accident before so water could seep in. This wouldn't be covered by warranty because it counts as an accident or flood damage. They probably found broken tabs or something.
In any case, even if you did try to reseal the headlights, your projector/lenses probably got very dirty and you will have to clean them out too. You can get a used ballast on the retrofitsource for around $200 and then buy a new HID bulb for around $50.
Make sure you use alcohol to clean everything and wear gloves. If any oils from your hands get onto the lenses/bulbs, it would shorten the life.
Anyways, $1400 to replace headlights is actually reasonable from a dealer. That price would be the same at any bodyshop. The headlights alone cost well over $1000. You might be able to shave $100 or $200 off going to another body shop in labor costs, but the headlights alone do cost over $1000 brand new.

Read my post. A new headlight costs about $1000...HID headlights don't come cheap. You need the projector, lens, ballast, etc...
Not to mention Infiniti is a luxury brand, so expect luxury prices.

thx for all the input guys i still can't believe dealership trying to charge me this much... I was wondering if i buy the headlamps off of ebay such as this 1 http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2007-200...33b115&vxp=mtr does it already come with the HID and ballast?
I was also wondering what do you guys think if i go the aftermarket route as it seems to be just as cheap and go with some halo led lights?

The ballast is probably just wet.
If you have the older one where the top can be removed, take the whole ballast out from under the car (through the wheel wells), open it up and dry it out.
Place it in a ziplock bag of silicon packets as well, about a day, to make sure all remaining moisture is gone. Then run a blow dryer to it for a couple minutes.
Pop it back in and it'll be good to go.
If you have one of the newer ballasts where you can't open the top up, just dry it out with the blower/silicone packet method for a longer time.
Otherwise, get a new ballast. You can get used ones for about $40.
Now, to solve the source of the problem. You really need to take the headlight assembly out, check for any leaks or cracks, then seal it back up. Butyl Rubber is the best way to seal the clear lens back to the housing.
Rather than bore you and regurgitate info that's likely already in the forums, i'll stop right here. However, if you want a bit more info, feel free to PM me and i'll walk you through the entire process, including why you should bake the headlights for 30 minutes instead.

Keep in mind, there are two headlights for this vehicle,
Without Tech Package - 26010-JK60C - 705.00 + shipping and or taxes
With Tech/Preimum Package - 26010-JK61C - 850.00 = shipping and or taxes
The one one E-Bay is the first one.... clearly aftermarket, but I guess at that price you can get 2 Driver and Passenger and still come out a little ahead of the OEM price
those prices above are the entire headlight with bulbs and ballasts also
just food for thought
