Infiniti Newbie =)

Just purchased an '07 G35x with 28,200 miles on it... nope, not missing a '1' in front of that number =) (WIN) Traded in my '11 Sonata SE Turbo (with 20,000 miles)... was two years into my lease but wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it because 1. I miss doing aftermarket things to my cars and wasn't going to on a lease that I probably wasn't going to keep, and 2. I wanted AWD, navi and sunroof... Test drove a '13 Hyundai Santa Fe and a '13 Subaru WRX both completely loaded - Subaru pretty much laughed when I told them what I wanted for my Sonata =/ But it was ok because being the office manager at a Hyundai dealer gave me a HUGE advantage on my trade in when someone else traded in the Infiniti! I couldn't really see myself in the Santa Fe because of the performance type of driver I am and the SUV aspect... As far as my Infiniti goes, there ain't much more a fully loaded 2013 model Santa Fe or WRX has over my 2007 Infiniti - backup camera and bluetooth MP3 capability at best... whoopty doo! Stick shift in the Infiniti would be nice, buuttt... At least you have the sport drive shifting option. My Sonata had the paddle shifters which had it's fun... Never even considered an Infiniti, looked at pricing for a Lexus IS250 but was never really impressed w/the horsepower rating. Boy am I glad this car was traded in!

Well, in any case, just wanted to say "hi" to everyone here! I'm excited to browse around and see what you all have for mods and performance upgrades and get some ideas and get back into the grove of customizing again! My last most upgraded car was an '02 Cavalier z24 (do I even admit that on a forum like this, lolol) but it was MY car that I paid the money for the upgrades - header, 'cat, 'cat-back exhaust, lowered, short ram intake, wheels and tires, lights... (sold that for the Sonata Turbo). The Infiniti was to get its first customizing today with tint, but the guy called in sick... go figure... So tint on Wendesday and probably the K&N 69 series intake kit shortly there after to start =D.

welcome to the forum sounds like you got a killer deal!
if you need information this is a really good place to get it
if you need parts or mod information, this is also a good place to get it,
I believe the Stillen GEN III intake kit would be better than the K&N 69 Series, but that's just my opinon
I don't know much about the K&N seems to me like a dying breed,
anyway, welcome!

Welcome and congrats on the new ride! I recently just purchased mine a few months back with 15k on the clock..and its definitely a fun ride.

Best on the mod department.. seems like there are quite a few theories on what works or worth it vs not doing anything unless doing some sorta of power adder.. Turbo/SC etc...

Welcome to the forums and congrats on a getting a nice car! Judging from your excerpt above it seems you enjoyed the paddle shifters in the sonata in which case id recommend you look HERE in the DIY section which outlines how to install OEM paddle shifters from the sports version into your G straight plug-n-play. The install might seem hard but it really is easy if you follow the diy, i did it for a friend and it was quite easy and painless and he enjoys his even more!

good luck and keep us posted!

Welcome and seems like you found a great deal.
I myself picked up an 08 G35 Sedan Journey with 32,600 on the clock with Enkei wheels last month. It is nice to have a car I can mod again. Good luck with the mods and as far as the Stillen intake price difference; there is a reason it cost more, you actually make HP with it verses the very slight gain the K&N gives you. I also believe the AEM and INJEN are viable options, but Stillen does it the best from what I have read.

Welcome to the forum!
Look into swapping to a ztube with the K&N drop in filter, are you in Canada or USA? I know a few good places in the GTA
