This was a dealership trade in. Supposedly they are already checked/inspected... Its got "high" mileage because that's where my pricing point is.

Dealers ALWAYS tell you that they already checked/inspected it. Which probably means they checked to make sure there are no actual safety issues on it. Trust me, 90% of dealers will not replace the brakes if they need replacing, as long as they aren't down to the rotor.......They won't replace leaking gaskets (not like you should have any on this car anyways) because A) the car runs fine as is, B) it cuts into their profit if they fix something on the car.

Unfortunately, most dealers are truly out there just to make a dime. They couldn't care less what kind of product they are selling to you, as long as you sign on the dotted line. There are some dealers that are the exception to that rule, but they are truly few and far between.

Infiniti dealership? it doesn't really make much of a difference.

You're spending thousands of dollars on something and you have the right to have a third party inspection. Pay a little to potentially save a lot.
If the dealer says no to the inspection, walk away...unless, of course, they want to give you a good power train warranty N/C.

You'll be disappointed at the fuel economy, and how it recommends premium. Even if you drive like a granny. City driving is the worst... but the burst of acceleration is so FUN.

I beg to differ. M35 hybrid and now the new Q50 hybrid lol...

Anyways. the V6 engine in our Infiniti cars are way less fuel efficient than other cars with V-6's...Lexus ES/IS have way better fuel economy than our G's and they are all V6's...

The Accord V-6 is still about 20-30% more fuel efficient than our G's...

Getting EPA estimated 17 city and 25 highway is pretty horrendous for a V-6. My Lexus LS430 (which is a v-8) gets the same in the city and highway.

Of course not, but the Audi S4 gets comparable fuel economy and that thing is supercharged... and even cars in the same league such as the 335i have more torque and same fuel economy.

Showing my age a bit here I guess , but in the not so distant past, people did exactly that; opting for the 6 cylinder was the economy play over the more powerful, but thirsty V8's. Nowadays, engine technology has advanced to the point where the 6's put out what the 8's used to, but with better mileage, and the 4's are being massaged to the point that they are the new economy play over the 6's.

It won't be long before miserly, but furious little four bangers, with outputs that will shame our beloved VQ's, are all too common.

the city mpg sucks in this car i get 14mpg. even my buddys hyundai genesis 5.0 rspec gets better fuel economy than me and his cars bigger and heavier than mine. but he does have an 8 speed tranny and direct injection.

but never do i regret buying this car i love it

... and today's 8cyl engines can get much better gas mileage than a 6cyl engine did 25-30 years ago too.
