Yep, you're right, I did select just that part, because it was the only part that pertained to the comment I then made. You were referencing your earlier comment, which contained the part which matts08x and I had both commented on; you know, the part about his "neck being a little sore", in what appeared to be an attempt on your part to explain or justify it.

Please refresh yourself with what you posted:

So, are you really suggesting now that I took your comment out of context with my editing???, because the whole lawyer comment came afterwards and therefore has no relevance to either my initial or subsequent comments. Looks more like you're just backpeddling here.

I took that part of his comment as a joke. I am surprised that ended up being the main concern of this thread. I think most people wouldn't change their lifestyle to fake an injury. Paranoid people watching you while you do normal stuff. Then again, that's just me.

Sounds like some kind of twisted "two wrongs make a right" kind of reasoning. The only trouble is that you wouldn't be making him pay more, you'd be making everyone else who buys insurance, people who had absolutely nothing to do with this accident, pay for it; essentially just robbing everyone else because something unfortunate happened to you.

Agreed! Unfortunate truth of the matter

Put someone in jail for hit and run!? I would sleep just fine at night.
Absolutely, hit and run is a dispicable act and should be punished to the fullest; no question there. Persuing such a person for compensation by means of a legitimate lawsuit for their wrongfull acts is a completely legal (and moral) approach to take. What is NOT OK though, is to make up a fraudulent claim and then use it try to illegally exploit them for damages. Two very different approaches, but only one is legal and just.

Well, it certainly could have been, and he could well have clarified that, but if you look at his response after it was noted in my first post, his comeback was not to explain the humor, it was to justify his suggested misdeed with a comment that seemed to suggest it was somehow deserved (recall: "the reason i say that was b/c he tried to flee the scene. If he just stayed there then all is good"), which is NOT HUMOR!

I just took him at his word and called him out on it.

LOL this is an internet forum guys.. Don't take everything people say to your heart. Also, if you believe in one thing and if others believe in other... Let it be.. You don't have to preach ur beliefs here.. It's not Church..

The comment about the neck being sore.. I took that with humor in mind first than anything else.... Plus no one can't really comment that it's fraud or not, because you guys scared the OP away and as far as we know... we don't know anything about his injuries!

It's not right to just hit and run either. So back to the little humor of the neck pain I would take this guy on and clean him out. I'll make sure when i get a lawyer that he does that.

Thanks for all the info guys. Well to give an update, I do have full coverage. Just this morning I filed to press charges at the SAPD Traffic investigations unit. Only trouble is that I wouldn't be able to pick this guy out of a line up because he drove away and all I got was his plates and make and model of his car.

Sometimes it's just best to forget, forgive and just move on with your life. Karma will get him back for ya.

Glad to hear your car will be covered and it seems like you're in good health.

That sucks! I would think it's enough to have the plate number. Either way, I'm glad it worked out for you!

Yeah, the OP would probably just be out his deductible. Hopefully he can catch the guy.
