I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the OP doesn't WANT a G that is pre 07, just by the mere fact that he is
posting in THIS forum. That's like telling him, "nah
don't get this car because you can get an older model S4 for that price." (Greaatttttt thanks so much?????). I see the points about staying away, but I'm saying, for cheap enough of a price, I'm not so sure he can crash and burn like many are saying. The car isn't going to disintegrate 75 miles down the road because it had some water inside of it.

^ calm down man I didnt say that the OP wanted or should get an older car, all i said was that the statement made Kerry was correct that the older model with similar miles would be around that price with a clear title

With that said the car didnt have "some water inside of it" it "accumulat[ed] approximately 4-5" of water inside" as per the OP which is A LOT of water inside standing for a while to mess up a lot of things and it will take time for them to show including possibility of mold if the restoration was not complete and the resale value of the car will be very low due to the water damage and will be a hard sell but at then end of the day we are all here to give our suggestions and its the OP who has to make the decision so no need to emotional over what others say if it doesnt match with the way you think

Have you driven both G to come to the conclusion the 07-08 is better. Define better in your terms. More luxuriousness and disconnected from the roads with barely any mods and an interior that likes to chip away along with a POS CSC slave. The older G have their own issues like leaking valve covers, crappy window motors and ac/radio that likes to crap out along with pos compression rod bushing. Now when you get in the car you do not feel like you are disconnected from the road and have precise control and rawness compared to the tamer V36/v37. They have much more power but a lot more luxurious feel to numb the feeling.

if the sun roof story is legit, then in theory, the only issues would be interior electronics. my concern would be the engine electronics/computer. I'm no expert on infinitis, but if this were a mustang and that was really what happened, i'd be all over it. pull out the interior and check all the connections and replace anything questionable.

also i would low ball them for the cost of the car using the potential water damage as cause.
