Dedicated G35X Subthread area?
Anyone know why there is no G35X sub thread in this forum? Does it exist and if so where? Looking to have a few questions answered about they way the All-wheel Drive system works from members with more knowledge and experience than I.
Just ask away. There's tons of folks in here with X's. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out.
Ok, here we go.
-Is there any way to temporary disable all wheel drive by pulling a fuse?
-Is it possible to completely disengage VDC without bringing it into a shop and voiding the warranty?
-Is there any way to adjust VDC to remove the autobraking system or is it an on/off type deal?
-How does the X's suspension setup differ from the S's setup?
-Does being an AWD system affect Tire wear and brake wear differently than a traditional RWD system? (First time AWD owner)
-Planning to track my G at Willow Springs for the first time in my G, anything I should know about tracking my X? (Not new to track days, just to my X)

^Good questions! I just bought my G35x over the weekend and I was wondering a few of the same questions. Not for track surposes but just knowledge of the G35x and other models. I hope someone can answer these.

2 - Not without voiding the warranty, No. KPtechnologies has a module to keep it turned off.
3 - just On or Off
4 - It's higher and is a little softer tuned for comfort over handling
5 - causes of Tirewear have to many other variables to mention. AWD will make a difference though.
6 - I've never tracked my G so can't really answer this. I would beef up the stiffness with some aftermarket sway bars and lower it with springs or some coilovers if you want some adjustment. Have good tires. Factory X tires used to be GY RSA. If thats what you have they won't be good for a track.
1 - No. The fuse option worked on 1st gen G35's but does not on 2nd Gen sedans (2007-2013)

2) KPtechnologies? Interesting, will look into this more.
3) Dang again
4) Figured this might be the case, Any aftermarket options available? I read somewhere that the X needs different suspension parts compared to the non X sedan.
5) hmmmmmmmmmm
6) Planning on beefing up the chassis with the GT spec brace and front strut bar, I have my winter Micheline mud and snow tires on right now and wont be able to change them before I hit the track unfortunately.
Thanks for the answers, much appreciated.

Search for G35x rear stabilizer bar. There is a thread that discusses switching out the 35x stabilizer with the 35 RWD stabilizer.

There are a number of other threads too on the sway bars for the AWD cars.
Disable awd on our cars step by step here

Thanks, that linked thread was super informative, kind of convinced me to do just the rear sway instead of both the front and back, or to at least start with the back and do the front eventually.
Also, legit find on the RWD conversion thread. Kind of sketched out about actually doing it as the tranny is probably tuned at slower speeds to work with the AWD system but hey, might eventually do it when the car is not under warranty. Willdogs, have you done this?
Just Installed Paddle shifters onto my car, what a difference, I'm not sure but I think that the transmission shifts a little faster using the paddles vs the shifter stalk. Not sure why but hey, I am not complaining. Entire process took maybe 45 minutes and was a lot easier then I expected.
Followed the Guide at
https://g35driver.com/forums/v36-diy...t-paddles.html
Highly recommend the process to anyone who can find the parts, I got the OEM parts on ebay for less then $250.

Total brain cramp. Rear SWAY bar. Also, I have a 2006, not a 2007, and they're different. This thread has a good discussion. I've linked to the page that has the most thorough evaluation from skiloads as to what you can expect to achieve; scroll down about halfway. But the whole thread is a good read.

It's also cheap - a used rwd sway bar is easily found for $50 or below, shipped, on ebay.
Instead of paying someone ~$100 to do the work, use the $ to buy a set of rhino ramps, breaker bar, and/or a cheap torque wrench, and then have them around for the next mod!
Handling is DRAMATICALLY improved. Turn-in, stability, and feel are now exactly what, imho, this car should have had from the factory. I understand the argument / who makes up the bulk of g35/7x sales, but it utterly de-lobotomizes the car. This is, of course, in dry weather. We'll see how it responds in snow, but it's not like i'm trying to drive at 9/10ths on the street in bad weather!
I had to drop my exhaust; a few people said they were able to do this by squeezing it around without dropping the piping, but it's totally not worth the effort. I also bought new stock bushings at the dealer.
Great mod, and an absolute must-do for an 35x owner.
