Heated Seats TSB DIY

Does anyone have a DIY for the heated seats temperature difference TSB?

I did a quick search and could not find anything or I was not searching good enough

Just want to be sure I do this correctly.

Basically the driver and passenger side seat warmers don't heat the seat as intended. You'll notice temperature differences between the driver and passenger seats and the hi/low settings don't work as intended. It seems many have had this problem. Take a look at TSB ITB07-014

In any event, I was able to get this done which ended up being much easier than I thought. I also took the time to install my new steering wheel trim which was super easy thanks to the DIY.

Seat warmers work much better now and my trim is nice and new looking

If you have the TSB number, why don't you just download it from Infinitihelp.com and look at it. There's usually a basic set of instructions within the TSB, often with pictures, as well as any necessary parts listings.

The heated seats in my 2008 work like garbage too but the TSB doesnt say anything about it applying to any year besides the 2007. I went ahead and purchased the TSB "kit" for less than $20 but have yet to install it to verify if it works or not.

You are right.

I did go back and look at the TSB and it had instructions. Probably would have been useful before I started

Yeah the reference seems to only be 2007. I have not heard of any 2008 owners mention issues.

After the TSB fix my heated seats work properly now, but as you also agree they are not great. I've been in cars where you can definitely tell the seat warmers are on.

I guess it's all subjective, but you may not be having any issues at all and they may be working like they should be. Others seem to share the same beliefs.

I've never really had the need to use them in my '07, so I can't say for sure, but at the very least they were good for a few laughs the time I turned the passenger seat on and off repeatedly for my wife without her knowing it. She totally freaked out; was all afraid she was having hot flashes.

I always thought mine just sucked. They get warm but not very warm... here in the midwest, mine turn on in October and dont turn off until April. The switch is literally always on high..

I had the TSB done and my driver side still sucks, takes forever to warm up, passenger side gets hot fast though, so that is strange. Gonna check if the harness/grounds are tight next fall when it gets cold again. Before the TSB the driver side either wouldn't work at all, or only the seat back or bottom would get warm depending on if it was low or high or if the passenger side was on. BMW has much stronger seat heaters in my experience (G35s and 37 loaners as compared to 3 series, X3s, and 5 series I have gotten countless rides in).

The heated seats in our 08 Mini Cooper S work amazing compared to mine, they heat up in a matter of minutes and get nice and toasty. I'm starting to think I will just return the harnesses I picked up and save the $20. I put one in and didnt notice a difference in the speed it heated up so I took it back out.
