Unhappy Question Regarding Losing A Key Fob!!!!!!

Hello!

I've only posted a few times, but I have always gotten the exact answer I needed and I'm hoping today could be the same!

It happened. My Wallet and Keys were stolen. The their now ha my address and my key to my precious 08 'fini g35.

Is there any way I found have my second key be the only key that starts my car?

There must be some way in the computer to make the key unique to the car.

Thanks for your help!

Torty

You have to take the car to the dealer and they can reprogram so that the old key can not operate your car while your 2nd reprogrammed key would work fine, might cost around ~$100-125 depending on dealer and area

Ok, I was dreading having to take it to stealer. I was hoping there was a procedure I could do tonight at home that would help. I get pretty nervous about this! Thanks for the quick reply!

Unfortunately there is no way to do this at home from what iv learned unlike some older cars with ikeys and the dealership is the only option imo

Since its after hours for a dealer, if you are worried about someone grabbing it before you can get in to have them reprogram it, you could always do something like pull the ignition coils out. something that takes more effort for them than just reconnecting a battery or replacing missing fuses with paper clips, etc.

It happened today and I have a car blocking my at in. I really have been looking hard and it seems like I just have to go to the dealer or find a locksmith with the appropriate tools. Damn! If it only it was easier...

I would do a bit more than just one car behind it. Its very easy to roll a car back silently. take extra precaution. This is a common thing thieves do once they have the keys and know where the car is.

I just bought a spare fob and had it programmed to my car. Took it to a Nissan place because it was $15 cheaper than Infiniti... $100 versus $115. Local locksmith wanted $140...
