I have a 08 g35xs which keep giving me check enging codes ... the first was on the fuel ratio sensor ,I changed it and two days later i got another code for mass airfow sensoe i also changed it now am getting another code on another sensor ... these sensors are expensive coming from the dealers so far am up to $500 bucks just in senseor is there somting i am over looking with these issues ..;.

 

what mods do you have if any?

 

i have zero mods to the the car it all factory

 

guess the next thing am going to do is change all the filter ait and fuel to see if it helps .....

 

YES, there definitely is!

When you read a code from the ecu, it is typically due to some sensor reading being out of a normal or expected parameter range. Further, the manufacturer may offer a LIKELY cause for these faults, based on logical and statistical data, but that does not conclusively mean that is what is actually causing the fault; it's just a guide!! For the layperson, looking up these codes and following a repair/replacement based on the most likely culprit listed can sometimes be cost effective, but as you've now proven, sometimes this is why a skilled mechanic, one who understands the dymanics of the sytems and circuits involved, and can perform the appropriate diagnostics, can actually save you money in the long run by isolating the problem first, and then swapping just the right part.

Just out of curiosity, what code(s) did you read from your car?

 

The only check engine light I've seen was because of a faulty gas cap.
