Wrecked my G
So unfortunately I was hit the other day by a person running a light and was hit on my right rear wheel well. Surprisingly the damage doesn't look as bad as I though on the outside but I have not seen under the car. It is hard to see in the picture but the wheel is pushed is about 6 to 8 inches and is at about a 30 degree angle since it is pushed in further at the top than the bottom. Pretty much if I was wondering if the insurance company in going to consider the car totaled because the few people I have talked to about this said that usually with collisions in that area they end up totaling the car out. I don't have a clue if this is true that's why I am asking you guys. I do not have any more information about the damage to the car except it looks like the axle is broken.
It's pretty hard to tell from your post alone. There's no real magic about what totals a car. The insurance ompany will access the value of your car and the cost for repairs to restore it. If the repair costs reaches or exceeds a predetermined threshold, typically 70 to 80 percent of accessed value, then they will declare it totaled. SO, using hypothetical numbers, if your car was worth $18K, and the damages cost $12,600 to fix, they could total it. You can fix an awful lot for under $12k, but then rear-quarter damage and mechanical (axle, suspension, airbags etc.) are some of the most costly to repair, so they will add up very fast. If I had to guess, I'd say the odds are not in your favor for this one. Sorry you got hit and good luck getting it all sorted out.

(If your car was valued at more than 20K, and the threshold was 80%, then that's still within normal practice)
Thankfully I am ok and didn't get hurt. The person that hit me most definitely totaled there car. Thanks for the answers I guess now I just have to wait and see what the insurance company decides to do. If its totaled I will definitely be getting another G that's for sure
Edit: Glad you didn't get hurt OP, maybe you can jump to a Q50 if they total it out?

Sorry to hear about your accident, glad you're alright. My G is still in the body shop after getting T-boned late April w/ about $8500 in side damage. Hopefully whatever ends up happening that you're back in your G or an equal ride soon, best of luck
