2007 G35 Sedan Fog Lights?

Hey all.

So I am wondering, the lowest part of the headlight housing, this is considered a fog light?

If so, is there a way to disable this light?

Not only does it get hot, but it draws energy, and we don't get fog here where I live in Cali.

I also think it detracts from the aesthetics lights big time.

Is there a switch in the car or a way to shut it off? If not, is it easy to access where I could simply disconnect its power cable?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes; just don't turn it on to begin with.

EDIT: btw, it is covered in the Owner's Manual.

I never turn on my fog unless it rains or something, on any of my vehicle.

In socal, a lot of people just driving with fog light or HIGH BEAM on.

If I turn that POS fog on when there's actual fog I get super conscious about it until I can't take it anymore and end up turning it off. It annoys the hell out of me how fugly it looks when it's on. When I see other G35 drivers with it on when it's not needed it makes me want to ram them off the road.

WOW !

. . . and I thought it was just a lousy illumination source; I had no idea it provoked such venom! I think some people either forgot to take their chill pill or they need to find something slightly more important to worry about.

They are only Ugly until you change them out

There are so many options to making this light useful and actually look good.
You can either change out the ugly bulb for some white LED's and convert it into a DRL.
Or install a Orange LED, like I had on my Black sedan, it gives it a agrassive appearance while at the same time not being bright enough to steal all of the attantion in the headlight.
You can also spend 50 bucks and install a HID kit to match the OEM 4300k of the projector or the 3000k yellow options for those who are a fan of that.

The main point is.. That it's always going to take a big part of your healight, might as well make it pretty or useful

My Black sedan with the orange LED bulbs that I had wired up as DRL's

EVERYTHING ON AT THE SAME TIME

Yeah yur lights looks sick.

I guess the idea is to go a darker orange or a less illuminated bulb altogether.

I put in some 6k bulbs and it definitely looks cleaner without the fog lights on.

I would just wire them up as DTRLs like VT's G35S Sedan did. The genius who decided to incorporate a 'fog light' into the same housing as the low/high beams was a moron. Didn't they learn this in the first gen?

I guess its for cost saving. I wanted to put a yellow fog light bulb in it, and make it just a little bit more useful as a fog light.

We don't have much fog, nor rain, here in socal. so i have been putting that off for a while ... LOL

Rain, no. Fog, where in socal are you? Come down to SD around late November/early December until around February on the I15 or 5, then you'll get fog. The useless light though won't help. I added external DRL to mine to help with that.

hey! I just got an 2007 v36, just like yours. I really like the headlight setup you have with the orange led bulb where the fog light is. did you do any modifications to the headlight housing or just put in a orange led bulb? thanks in advance
