Getting my 60K service Done.. But......

Hello folks,
After going through this forum and getting a quote from a dealer, I decided, its better to put in an extra effort and save a lot of dough doing the service on my own. Though risky, its still better. But on looking for the Matic J (now S) for transmission and Matic D for transfer case, i came across a website which just confused the heck outta me.

Amazon.com: Genuine Nissan Fluid 999MP-AA100P Nissan Matic-D Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Quart: Automotive Amazon.com: Genuine Nissan Fluid 999MP-AA100P Nissan Matic-D Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Quart: Automotive

The above link is for Matic D , but it says auto transmission. But the manual says D is for transfer case.

Amazon.com: Genuine Nissan Fluid 999MP-MTS00P Nissan Matic-S Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Quart: Automotive Amazon.com: Genuine Nissan Fluid 999MP-MTS00P Nissan Matic-S Automatic Transmission Fluid - 1 Quart: Automotive

The above is for Matic S which is clear.

Please tell me, if D is still for transfer case and the product on that link can be purchased for the same.

Thanks,
Sam.

I just happen to have the invoice from the dealership for the 60k mile tuneup that was just performed. On the invoice it has 16 quantity (doesnt specify it was qt or just the # of bottles) of the 999MP-MTS00P Matic-S Automatic Transmission. They listed the quantity of 2 for the AA100P Fluid.

Btw my car is a 2007 G35x. I hope that helps.

I got mine at TheNismoShop.com or something like that after Google searching the fluid. It has the cheapest prices by for (like $8 ea.) not to mention it shipped in 3 days at no extra cost lol.

I just had a drain/refill down here at the dealer in San Diego and they charged $8/Qt for the Matic-S fluid, then just $67.50 for the labor. In addition, they took 10% off both because I had a coupon from OCInfiniti that I found online which they matched. I also had a diff service done for $90 (w/coupon) and they listed 3 units of 80W90 gear oil.

Mine is a 2008 G35XS.

That Nismoshop site is awesome. A helluva savings from amazon. Just FYI.. My dealer was charging $750 for drain and refill of tx, transfer and diff fluids. No way I am spending that money for that stealership..

Please tell me how many quarts do i need to purchase for..

Matic S(transmission) - ??

Matic D (transfer case) - ??

Differential - ??

Most of us gave up taking our G35s to the STEALERSHIP long ago due to price gouging. Nissan is 30% less and their mechanics are better trained....my opinion. You're better off finding an independent shop to do your 60K mile service as long as they use Nissan trans fluid. Differential and transfer case I'm a fan of using a synthetic like AMSOIL or RedLine, runs cooler and cleaner! I still like Nissan drive belts and wiper blades which I buy from my Nissan dealership....Gary

$750 for a drain and refill? This sounds criminal.

I'm in San Diego, so we traditionally get gouged for everything from gas to avocados. Some refer to this as "the sunshine tax".

I can see dealerships being within 30-40% of one another, but 300% seems extreme.

If you are in Big D, try Crest Infiniti off the 78 near Allen. They were very reasonably priced when I lived in Dallas.
