hi,
im long time My350Z member and owner of 2005 350Z ( Vortech SC)
looking to pick up a 2007 G35X in my area ( Montreal)
living in Montreal with lots of snow, the G35X seems to be the best value compared to other 4wd cars.
however I can never leave my cars stock lol..
so the immediate changes would be:
1. to lower the car just with Springs, so id like to know whats the best for that, for an even drop front and rear, I dont like when the car looks higher in the rear, or vise versa, when rear is lower the front.
2. I would like to swap in the OEM brembo kit, or OEM G37 brembo kit. I hat the dinky small brakes. I did this would my 350Z, which had the little brakes. swaped in a set of OEM brembos. is this possible with a G35X..?
3. get a set of 19's. can the oem G37 coupe 19's fit on G35X sedan..? I also read abit there are issues with stagerred setups for the X..? with the 350Z, there is the norm 19" setup, ex: 19x9.5F 19x10.5 rear etc.. what is that base setup for 19's on the G35X.
all feedback is much appreciated.

I am lowered on Eibach, which imo, is a nice even drop,, with decent clearance for crummy roads, and for driving in snow, which this car is very good at!
If you install 19" tires you can pretty much put any size brakes you want on the car...

1. My eibach pks are going on this Tuesday. Along with kyb shocks. These or the swifts are generally acknowledged as the most Even / dd acceptable for the x. Your car may or may not need a camber kit for the rear; I'm putting one on as a precaution.
2. The OEM akebono brakes from the g37s bolt right up. You need a good amount of clearance; most of is with them have 19s (but NOT all 19s will clear.) There's a fit template on - iirc - czp. I'm very happy with the upgrade.
3. The ideal setup for 19s on an x is 245/40/19 square. If you run staggered - which you absolutely can - rolling diameter has to be within about three
percent or so. This limits your rear width / tire size choices significantly. I'd love to get a set of staggered vossens - the deep concavity on the wide rears is dead sexy on this car - but practicality / the ability to rotate and effectively double tirec life won out.

hi,
great thanks... not as familiar with the G.. did not know the OEM equivilant of Brembo was Akebono for the G37.
im looking at a black on black 2007 G35X..
my initial ideal setup would be to lower the car, Eibach springs seems sufficient, swap in the OEM G37 19's and swap in the OEM Akebono break setup..
anyone happen to have any pics of this setup..?

The g37 19s are pigs. If you search the forums, you can find the weights, but they're seriously heavy. Between the akebonos and those wheels, you'd be adding a LOT of unsprung weight. Far better off to hold off on the wheels / save up for a forged set to offset the akebono weight gain (IMO!)Originally Posted by Drock1

I could buy better/nicer rims.. but im not really concerned about the weight..
my Vortech 350Z is my high power car ( 420whp/ 350wtq)
the G35X would just be for comfort and winter when not driving the 350Z..
unless what you mentioned about the weight, is bad/damaging for the car.?
if the added weight is not damaging to the car, then its fine with me..
