G35 Navigation upgrade issue

I searched but couldn’t find any relevant threads and before I head back to dealer, I thought I would ask the experts on this forum. My 08 G35 Journey with nav., upgraded nav. system at dealer to the latest 2014 ver. a few weeks ago. Since the upgrade, I’m cannot get the system to display a destination street number and street address, not even a destination city. For ex. I tried to enter Daytona (FL), I entered 1st few letters of city “Day” and only displayed 2 cities in NV and 1 in CA. Tried every combination of address and city but similar results. I also tried several other addresses in Atlanta with similar results. I was able to zoom in using the map and set a destination point for a recent trip and the system otherwise worked fine. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Make sure you are in the correct "region". It is the first setting when you go into the navigation and you see a map of the country with each region outlined on the left hand side of the screen. You then press the region you are interested in and you should be fine after that. The same thing had me confused as well when we went on a long roadtrip and had to change regions once we got to our destination. Hope that helps.

Thank you, that fixed it and saved me a trip to the dealer. I now remember setting the region when initially setting up the nav. system but that was years ago.

Now that this little bug is worked out seems o.k. In my opinion too pricy, have to pay for the software then pay the dealer to install. Not worth it to upgrade every year or even every couple of years but this is my first upgrade since purchasing G in ’08 seems worth it, noticed some new streets in my area have been added, hope this helps

Is it only the maps that are updated or is the background updated? The newer G's have a different color background in the climate settings, etc.

It's mainly just a map update (new streets & etc.), I read the graphics may be a little different on this board but I haven't really noticed.

I've been debating doing this, too. Maps are so old in my car but I just don't feel like spending that much money to upgrade it.
