Nope.
GTR pricing is simple greed and stupidity.
Greed from Nissan raising the price $40k for the SAME car.
Stupidity from anyone dumb enough to spend $110k for a $70k car.

Nissan should have just maintained the launch price and increased production.
Instead, they have a sales FAILURE on their hands....and it's still UGLY.

So if a GTR has the same performance as a GT3 an half the price, wouldnt the GT3 owners really be the dumb ones?

Also for making no changes, Nissan has managed to shave 20 seconds off their orginal 2008 Nurburgring with current 2015 model. Funny you complain about a 40k price hike though, because the ZR1 is 36k more than the Z06 and it made a 3 second improvement on Nurburgring lap time. So 36k for 3 second improvement or 40k for 20 second improvement, what is the real rip off?

Really no. Exact same supply (production numbers havent changed) and pretty much same demand if you dont count the stupid people at lauch time. The only reason the demand stays high is becasue the car continues to improve year after year. First inflation accounts for about 10% of the price increase alone. Second, the technology changes and improvments to the car account for other price increase.

Since laugh, the GTR has added
-Automatic headlights, braided brake lines, dvd system, better stereo, many aerodynamic improvements (+10% downforce) and lower cod, recaro seats, 65hp/33tq and 1 mpg BETTER fuel economy, larger exhaust, better Bilstein suspension, lighter wheels, rear cooling ducts, improved r-launch control, and 6 stage paint process.

It's more than likely that Nissan is losing money on each GT-R so the initial pricing was set way too low and Nissan has had dramatically raise the price. The basic body, chassis and engine hasn't changed. Most of the improvements have been tweaks. So adding $40,000 to the base price in just a few years is insane. The next Nismo is going to be $151,000. The C7 Z06 on a brand new everything will just tip $100k.

Teh GT-R pricing ins't based on cost, it's based on demand. Limited production for XX performance = price on the market. They can keep trying to polish it for a few more years but the body is old, the basic chassis is old and it's heavy as hell.

I have 77,000 miles at 69 months, so it is out of warranty. I never expected a maintained vehicle to throw a rod. Will be towing to the Infiniti dealer this week, but curious if anyone else has seen this problem.

Thanks

Are you arguing with FACTS that the gtr has been improved every model year? Lol. I end my discussion here cuz I don't argue with brick walls

It is definitely improved every year. You can't argue with the dollar versus performance figures either, it dominates cars three times the price.

.... But it still ugly

I disagree on the fact that the GTR has been improved every model year.
My friend has a 2011 GTR and a 90 something skyline. Between those two I'd take the skyline any day but with the amount of work he's done to the newer one it barely even looks like a stock GTR. I don't think their ugly, but they don't look different. They have similarities to the g35!

Hahaha Best reply yet. You would much rather have a POS 20 year old car over a modern supercar. You disagree that the GTR has improved every model year but in your example the R32 Vspec ran Nurburgring in 8:22. The new GTR Nismo did it in 7:08. I would call that a pretty big improvement. Also there is no similarity whatsoever with the G35 and GTR.

As far as looks yeah there is. I drive them both all the time.
Yeah I'd rather have the older one cause of what you can do to it. But I still like my friends newer one which will beat pretty much anything out there..
Which car do you have?

I have to get rid of my g35 probably soon. Not sure if I wanna get a GTR. I'm starting to see too many but you don't see many R32. My friend leaves his in Europe.

GT-R has improved but no major chassis, engine or body changes. Just tweaking of the suspension and turbos/ecu tuning. The results are much different but IMHO the tweaks are evolutionary
