LOL
Been building cars for 20 years.
LSx conversion?
WTF would you do a LSx conversion when you can just buy a car that had a LSx engine from the factory ????

Multiple 1000hp G's in existence ????
There are multiple 1000hp Corvettes in MY TOWN.
There are no FAST Infinitis.

The capitals and bold is for words that I am stressing.
If you don't like it, don't read my posts.

Do me a favor.
Actually go to a track this weekend and call a guy who's running a car he built in the 9's or better a TW@T to his face and see what happens.

Not trying to rub it in your face, but I needed to make it painfully clear to you why your accusations of me modding my commuter car were absolutely ridiculous.

Listen, dude. I am not going to spend significant time in my life researching a car that I simply use to commute.
As soon as my engine was authorized and they woudln't even let me see the torn down motor, I lost interest.
But, use your head. If there was a piston ring or other issue, they would MAKE CHANGES moving forward to avoid future warranty claims.
This should be painfully obvious to everyone.
No not at all. The engine was only offered in the 2007-2008 model year. My car was built in 12/2006 and my engine is still pristine. I would have the earlier version of this engine as you claim. I don't have piston ring issues. The only thing I heard that they changed in the engine in terms of parts is the paper gasket that was changed to metal that causes low lol pressure because of premature failure.

The problem is that you make claims you don't have evidence to back up and then when asked for proof you brush it off. You have no evidence whatsoever other than your say so. Anyone who disputes you is wrong apparently.

And you honestly contradict yourself a lot. You say that it is a waste of money to mod this car but you're selling a modded g35 and was contemplating modding your newer one according to your previous threads.

I think what you mean to say is, there are no fast Infinities FROM THE FACTORY.

There are plenty of fast ones out there.

Are you looking for a cookie or a pat on the head or something here? I fail to see the point of your constant ignorant dribble.

Thousands of people do LSx conversions because they like (fill in the blank) car but want easy reliable power. For someone that claims to have been building cars for 20 years, you sure seem to be lacking basic knowledge. G35s, Jeeps, 240, classic cars, classic trucks, ect all typically have many LSx swaps in the community. Why buy a fast car, when you can build one yourself?

Just because you havent personally seen a fast Infiniti doesnt mean they do not exist. If you had basic mental skills required to use Google, I am sure you could find many fast Infinitis. I will go ahead and ruin the surprise for you though, they do exist.

I could go to my local track and call a guy running 9s a twat and guess what, nothing would happen. Most gear heads are good guys and would laugh it off. But if someone was acting like a spoiled little 6 year old shitstain like you, I am sure I wouldnt be the only one calling them out. Look kiddo, I am not sure why you have your panties all up in a bunch here, but you are just making yourself look foolish.

Because buying a G35 and then going out and sourcing a LS motor, T56, mounts, ecu hacks etc.... ends up costing a ton of money.

VS just selling the G35 and starting out with the LS powered car from the get go. It's pretty hard to argue against a Vette that has superior handling and weighs less than the Infiniti.

But if you want a LS powered G35 sedan, I can see that. As there isn't any LS powered 4 doors that are in the 3500lb range.

Ton? It can be done in your garage for around 8k with hand tools. That hardly counts as a ton. Plus many 03-04 shells come up for 3-4k often. It is quite possible to build a NA 400hp G35 for under 15k. Not everyone wants a vette or cares about superior handling. Some people just want a fast decent looking car to have fun with. Personally I prefer the styling of the G35 coupe over the C5 and most C6s. Everyone has personal preferences and desires for a car. If everyone liked the same thing, there wouldn't be PT Cruisers, Neons, Bajas, Cubes, G6, and other ugly cars on the road.

8k might get you a non-emissions compliant LS1. In this state, your motor has to be newer than the car's year. And we are talking about a guy that blew his motor and is looking for options. He didn't buy a shell. So in this case, this guy will end up spending the price he paid for the coupe ($15-$18k?) + 8k min and a ton of time

I'm not 100% up on the swaps but the problem is the gauges. Hard to get them all working on a real good street legal clean swap.

I'm not talking about preference, I'm talking about the economics and sense. Aesthetics aside, a C6 would have better weight dist (rear mounted tranny) vs a G swap with 2 more cylinders hanging out front, would be lighter 3,2xx lbs for the C6 vs 3,500lbs + whatever weight the LS motor adds.

To me from the technical side, it's ice skating uphill. But again, since there is no light 4 door LS, I'd approve of an older G sedan swap.

Getting the gauges to work isnt difficult at all. Acouple companies even make plug and play harnesses. You mail them your G35 ECU and they take care of everything.

Also I wasnt talking about C6 TT, I was talking in general. He stated probably 20 times it is his daily driver, so it would make no sense for him to source a LSx swap. Economics and sense? If that was all that mattered, no one would have a G35 at all. Again, weight dist doesnt matter to most people. Only a very small percentage of owners actually track their car. Some people may just like a uniqe car, that sounds good and has a bit of power.... crazy as that sounds.

On a technical side, it is actually pretty simple with all the swap kits out there now.

I wasn't talking about C6TT either. I was also talking in general.

\If you want to use the logic that people don't track their car, then logicially, swapping in another VQ35 or HR35 HR37 would be the most logical move. Not sure why people would "care" about HP and not weight dist, handling etc.... Unless they want a Infiniti street drag mobile.

Power and no handling...you mean like any SRT vehicle ever made? Some people simple like the sound of a V8, want a little extra power or a unique car. Some people like turning a wrench. Why the hell are you so concerned about why? You really think that every person that does coilovers, turbo or any other mod here does it for one particular reason? If you really want to know go PM all the people who have done swaps and ask them their reasons and stop trolling here.

Why are you concerned about why? Same question to you. What is the weight dist of a SRT powered car and a LS swapped G? At least the SRT car is engineered this way and not done like this. BTW, we aren't talking about SRTs.

Sound of a V8? Really. Kinda reaching for it now right?

People do weird stuff all the time. I wouldn't particularly boost a VQ35. I'd only boost a HR or the older VQ30 power plants. Coilovers, turbos, supercharger etc... add handling and power and won't cost well over $10,000 to do right. Well a turbo might get into that range.

Why do I have to ask all of them why? Trolling? You're the one using profanity and trying to flame C6TT here with some oddball logic.

Let me make this clear, I'm not saying NOT to do it. I'm stating why I wouldn't do it. All that trouble for 400hp? Just add a SC system and you're pretty much there.

Most people just want it to go fast when you push the loud pedal. They don't have the stones to push it in a turn.

And they want that V* *vroom**vroom* sound. Put a single turbo and plug in one of these.

http://www.soundracer.se/?p=98

I dunno, gut your G35, swap in a V8, spend $10K plus etc... I'm sure they might throw it into a turn or two. I guess we should tell all these guys that have swapped LS motors into their G35s they don't have the stones to put the car into a corner
