2008 g35 sedan blown engine
The GTR has always been my dream car, that and the Audi RS5. But I could always just get the S5 and tune it to be just as great as the RS5. A buddy of mine did that. Plus it would save money. But I have also been looking at the G37 coupes.
My friend who lives close to me but also lives in London parts of the year for racing and stuff he's got an R34 and he wants to bring it to the states but they would have to modify it a lot!
Are you all ready for some irony:
What are the odds that MY ENGINE THAT THREW A ROD was also purchased NEW from Willow Grove, and Willow Grove maintained my car regularly with MOBILE ONE.
This is the EXACT SAME SCENARIO, SAME DEALERSHIP, SAME BLOWN ENGINE.
What are the odds of that ????
I am in shock reading this right now and have to process this.
But, I have NOT ran MOBIL ONE since the new motor and I will NEVER return to Willow Grove again.
Come to your own conclusion.
I have been running regular oil at 3k mile intervals ever since.
PS
My car is a G35x sedan (auto) and my car has been 100% stock since I bought it new. I even replaced the air filters with OEM filters and not K&N because I intended to use the extended warranty for as long as possible, with zero drama.
I am a middle aged, original owner and I've never turned the VDC off, let along modded, or even beat on this car that serves as my daily driver. I have other weekend toys for fun.

Then I saw THIS POST above. The odds are astronomical for sure. Tells me the dealership may have really done something disastrous while maintaining these cars. Perhaps using something else OTHER THAN OIL in the car..or more likely, they drained the car for the oil change and then someone turned on the engine before adding the new oil...then tried to *cover it up* (when the damage was done)?
Don't laugh...this scenario has been actually VERFIED with some big auto servicers ( say a SEARS for example).
Throwing a rod is not a common issue. OC was common on 05-07 manuals, but it didn't cause that problem unless you never check your oil and it gets too low. This is actually the first story I've heard of a thrown rod
Final Note:
My car is back in service with a used engine.
I posted to Infiniti's FB page and they had me private message them my reference number so they could review my claim. Their response back was they could not change the decision that had all ready been made to offer no assistance.
The only thing the Consumer Affairs person would tell me is that it was denied because it was 7000 miles out of warranty, which they knew before I tore down the engine. If the response was always going to be "You are out of Warranty, we won't help you." they should have just said that, and I would not have wasted the time and money on a tear down and the time waiting for their decision.
