Sport tires, my experience
Sport tires, my experience
76k miles, time for my fourth set of tires.
Long story short, I ordered Bridgestone Potenza RE760.... again. I've been quite happy with the tires. Nice handling, great traction, relatively quiet, and ride well. Plus they're one of the cheaper tires out there. Better all around than the other two sets of tires I've had. And at $570 for the set (plus delivery) from Tiretack.com....
The stock RE50 tires: 760s are cheaper and better (although only slightly) in every way. Dry/wet/noise/handling/ and especially price.
Other set I had: Sumitomo HTRZ III At the time were pretty much my only cheaper option. Had to go with 235 front 255 rear. In terms of performance, they were close to the RE50 tires, but just not quite there. Not as good of traction.
So All around, I'd say the 760s make a great street tire. There are better performance tires out there for autox or what not, but they're all more expensive and wouldn't last the 20k miles like I got out of these. Even totally bald, they still have great traction.
