New owner of a v36 sedan have some issues

So Ive lurked around this site for a few years now always admired the community you guys have here. Just purchased a 2007 g35 sedan and ive came up on a problem.

The dashboard lights wont turn on when i turn on the headlights at night. They work fine when i switch them off which means the leds are ok right? Tried to search everywhere but all i found was answer to ppl who have older g35s as in 06- below. Also the CD button and everything in the center console also does not light up.

Anyone ever experience this problem? Im going to be checking fuses when i get off work hoping that is it. i dont even know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. tia

Have you tried adjusting the illumination levels w/ the center screen menu, you might have it set on full dim when the lights are turned on.

I think I did try that last night. I'll try it again tonight. Does the v36 not have a dim switch like the v35 does?

Just press the button that makes the dashboard brighter. I forgot whether it is on the left side of the dash or right next to the gauge clusters on the edge.

I also heard there's a way to black out the dash when the lights are on which might be my case. I need to figure out how to reverse the method.

You're supposed to press the brightness button while your headlights are on....this happens to my car all the time.
