Another one Bites the DUST!!

Sad day for me folks. I was the unfortunate recipient of the front end of a 2014 Huyndai Santa Fe. Lady ran a red light and rearranged the front of my G35S all over the road. I will say this car took a beating! The engineers at Nissan/Infiniti did a great job protecting me and my daughters. although the front of the car was demolisthed. The rest of it was intact. all electronics still worked as they should. remote entry was not an issue and none of the doors were jammed or binding in any way. insurance has declared my car a Total Loss. Join me in saying good by to a Unicorn in the G35 world. My V36 MT6 with every option but 4WAS is now destined to be parted and pilfered like a runway model gone junkie. may it's parts help other enjoy their cars even longer.

the last pic is from inside the engine compartment. notice how the fdrame looks as though it was cut with a Frikin Laser beam (in a Dr. Evil Voice)

Sorry to hear it. Unfortunately I have seen a HUGE increase in people running red lights in my area and I feel like it's only a matter of time before the accidents get worse. Good luck on your search for a new whip.

Sad day But whats more important is that you are your daughter walked away from the incident.

And may I say the impact side of the A pillar looks very good, no deformation, and the door open and close with problem means the driver compartment was intact. Even the windshield itself was kept from cracking.

Anyway, glad that everybody was ok, glad to see that the car does a good job in protecting the occupants. I hope the insurance company will give you a good amount for the car and best wishes for your car search.

thanks guys. The Police told me there have been an increase in accidents around my area. Its due to a change in the Signal sequence. after a green arrow there is a blinking yellow instead of a red. most people run it figuring they have the right of way. my case is different. i had a green arrow and this lady blew through a red at about 50 MPH and to my recollection she didnt hit the brakes. it was an angled head on collision ( if that makes sense). Yes i got more than fair value from my insurance. since my car was kind of rare in G35 terms i got more than the base model value. they even gave me extra for the hitch i installed and the tires i just had put on a few months ago.

That is a significant amount of damage

I'm glad you and your family are okay OP!

The G's have such a well-designed crash bar up front

Wow, great to hear there were no injuries, except a broken heart I'm sure
Do you already have plans for another ride?

Ehh....idk I still prefer the G37

The Q50 looks nice, but I haven't read a single good review about them or heard anything good on the forums
