Long time lurker with a G35x

So over the weekend I finally got rid of my 98 Maxima that I've been been driving and tinkering with for most of 6 years.

(Excuse my awful photos. I am no photographer and I'm using my iPhone.

It was a great car and I will forever miss it, but probably not so much after I settle into the 08 G35x I picked up.

Bone stock, and for the most park she'll stay that way. I'm taking this "build" in a more OEM+ direction. So far I've compiled a few quotes on prices for a couple minor modifications:

-black vinyl wrap for the chrome window trim. I'm not a fan of chrome, however the minor chrome accents on this car are well done in my opinion. Of course it's not permanent so if it needs to be changed up it can be.
- window tint (being done this week)
-Black grill with original Infiniti badge unchanged.
- A mild drop, more than likely around 1 inch all around. As much as I would love to really drop this car on its nuts with a nice set of coils, I've decided to just start with springs until I can really build the suspension of this car the way I want.
-Sport lip
-Some variation of a rear lip or diffuser
-rear window visor
-change out the stock fog light bulbs with something a little more appealing like amber or yellow.
-sway bars
Wheels (These will come last as I really want to find the perfect set of proper wheels for her)

Tomorrow I'm going to the local auto parts store up the street from my apartment to upgrade my bucket of car cleaning products so after I give her a nice wax I'll finally have some quality photos.

I would love any suggestions/comments from the G community here as I'm excited to see what all there is out there on G35Driver.

Welcome to the club, man!

That looks like a healthy list of mods, it should look real nice and clean once you're done with that. Since you have a black G, any plans on getting it blacked out? Lights, wheels, etc.

It won't be getting blacked out. I went through my "black on black on black" with the Maxima and I just feel like it's become an overdone styling. The wheels will more than likely be a silver or gun-metal color, or bronze.

I'm not too big a fan of blacking out myself, it's just very common with black cars is why I ask

the sway bar made a big difference in the cornering of my x. highly recommend it. not to say it's much of a difference during normal driving conditions, but under harder acceleration and cornering it's noticeable. i went with a 370z takeoff and got new bushings. it was a cheap and easy mod.

On the topic of 350/370Z parts for our vehicles I've noticed a lot of people running springs from Z's. Since I'm only looking for a mild 1" drop can anyone recommend anything? I've been searching around this site and a few others but I can't seem to find a concise answer, maybe I'm just not grasping the concept.

Anyways, are there any other cross-platform parts that are common upgrades for the G? Sway bars are on my list of parts I'm just waiting for a good set at a good price to pop up.

So I finally got some time off work and did my first couple "mods" on the G. Painted the grille black but left the emblem chrome and I must say this makes a night/day difference in my opinion in the overall appearance. I also got the windows tinted.

Sorry for the birds eye view from my apartment balcony.
Anyways, I've got my eye on an OEM lip, and an OEM spoiler. While I wait for the right prices to come through on those parts I've been looking up suspension. More specifically the G/Z combo. Does anyone with an X have any pictures of their G/Z drop or have any recommendations on where to buy these springs?

Edit: this post made me realize how much I hate that chrome vanity plate trim so ill be going to Autozone tomorrow after work to buy some more attractive plate covers.

I have a G35x lowered on Swift Springs. I am happy with them. There was a thread dedicated to them a while back. Swift 4N907, designed for the G37x, but will work on the G35x

Did you replace your shocks/struts as well? With the Swift's spring rates I figured id just change the whole setup and possibly throw on a camber kit so I don't eat away my tires.

I did not. I am still on the stock dampers. My front camber was -2.0 after the drop. I am willing to live with that. Toe was very close to zero.
