UpRev Tuned

Hi people,

I just got my car UpRev tuned by a workshop. I'm just wondering why are my numbers so low ? I have short ram intakes, HFC's, cat-back exhaust, new spark plugs, Splitfire SDIS coilpacks and Stillen grounding kit.

A friend who also has the exact same car as mine with just cold air intakes made 210WHP before and 260WHP after the tune.

Anyone have any ideas why ?

Thanks !

P.S Car is a 2007 Infiniti G35S Sedan (RWD VQ35HR)

Maybe a different dunk machine? Different machines can show different gains. Bye get your self a plenum spacer, you need it to open up your breathing.

Haha all good, the tuner told me having bigger wheels and semi-slick tires can also play a part on the dyno ? Is it true ?

Yes. Bigger wheels/tires make for a taller gear ratio. Its not gonna transfer power from the motor to the street the way you want it to.

Did your friend have his car measured on a Dyno Dynamics dyno also?

(HINT: They're not called the heartbreaker dyno for nothing)

My X put down 260awhp or so several years ago.

Regardless of your actual numbers, am I to believe you really gained more than 50whp with just your bolt-ons and tune? No way. Something fishy is going on here.

on your graph it looks like they cut the baseline run short. that is why your base numbers are so low. did your friend dyno his car at the same place?

Umm . . .they're also showing torque and power versus road speed, not rpm.

Where are the shifts then? Smoothing must have been something ridiculous.

Haha that's because I have a JDM Skyline, so it hit the speed limiter (180km/h) at around 5,500rpm. He has removed it and at the end, he managed to get 242.5HP.

Yes, he did the tune at the same workshop with the same tuner too.

Yeah I asked him, he said sorry he used the wrong axis label .
He said he did the runs on 4th gear.

If the short ram loses like 5 and a good cai can gain around 10, plus that hot air sucking intake made it difficult to add timing without detonation.... 20 hp difference. (give or take 5)
