If you had them replaced with OEM end links I'd be shocked if they failed within a year. If it was some cheap aftermarket end links then that's definitely possible.

This is exactly why most people don't buy vehicles with a sports car suspension underneath. LOTS of components that have a short life expectancy.

1 year is too short though, realistically the end links for normal spirited daily driving will last 75k miles.
