I've heard of guys on the 370Z forums doing this to gain a few horses. Basically it skips hot coolant from going into the throttle body, therefore leading to cooler intake temps. Has anyone here done this?

Smart idea, theoretically prevents heat soak. Although how much does it really do, almost nothing. Intake temperature is measured at the input, where the TB is after so you may not prove results.

Well basically I was trying to gauge from the community if it even works. I've read both on other forums around the internet, one opinion that it reduces intake temps and one that it won't matter after 15 minutes when the throttle body is heatsoaked anyways.

Believe what you may, but realize Tony wouldn't sell something that was pure Bologna (think "engine braces" from Stillen) for performance. It does have a purpose, and theoretically keeps intake temps down which increases HP... Why do some racers put dry ice on their engines?

It may when the engine is very very hot. U have a hot engine and hotter coolant running through it.

May be good in theory, but doesn't always mean it actually has any real world impact. Especially for day to day driving. Look at all the people convinced grounding wires help performance.
