But honestly if your car is running good and your still within the recommended service interval I probably wouldn't do it.

yea ill wait until I need to change the plugs then go with the best ones to insure the best performance. Thanks again!

This is what i did. a little less hassle than disconnecting the battery, it's an easy (and free) first try!
hey sorry but do I do this with the gas peddle or the brake? I tried both and no luck

"I let it sit for about 45mins or so, then i pumped the brake pedal a few times to discharge any bit of remaining current in the system. "

if you did this then its done, you have reset the ECU

I have been having a similar issue with my 07 Sport 6MT. I was going to just do an idle relearn to fix the problem, but this is much easier. I decided to log my throttle position where I found the throttle doesn't close any more then 3% open even at idle. I figured 'Okay it needs air to idle, however most throttle bodys have holes/vains to allow air in during idle.' I'm going to do an ecu reset and maybe an idle relearn and see if it closes the throttle plate any more then right now.

Idle relearn/Pedal Dance can be a pain in the *** the first time your doing it. Ecu reset is quick and easy but deletes your trip, radio presets ect...
I don't know if there are any differences in the end result. I'm sure someone else could verify.

Is this what you're talking about? Becuase I tried it like 6 times and couldn't get it lol. Which peddle do you press? And you're only supposed to turn the electronics on in your car for the first step right now actually turn the whole car on?

Yeah, that's one of the ways to do an ECU reset. I know other relearn procedures require certain conditions to be met before it will work. (ie. up to operating temp, steering wheel is straight, proper battery voltage ect). I can't imagine this one requires that stuff. I'm basing this on my experience with the FWD VQ's and QR's this may be quite different though. I'm sure someone will be able to chime in with more helpful information.

Gas pedal lol... if you could get the brake all the way to the floor 5 times in 5 seconds I'd be very impressed!

haha I figured it was the gas peddle. I tried the brake a couple times and it was quite the task. Do you know if this works for the 07 g35?
