Suspension Revamping (122k miles)

Hello fellow G35 drivers, who are probably much more knowledgeable then myself.

I have a '07 G35x, and after driving my friends 2008 G35x with only 40k miles, I realized my car isn't as tight as his.

After jacking the car up, I realized my front right strut is leaking, and my back shock absorbers are... bad to say the least.

I went online and ordered 2 KYB front struts, and 2 KYB shock absorbers. All of these were part of the Excel-G line. Which, a search on the forum leads me to believe KYB is a good OEM replacement and a great value. I paid $280 for the 2 struts and 2 shock absorbers.

Also ordered new 2 new strut mounts and 2 new shock mounts. Now what else should probably be replaced around the 122k mile mark? Nothing on the car has been touched suspension wise, and service records prove this.

I see ball joints, swaybars, linkages, control arms, and it's honestly all over my head.

What else do I need to make my G35 drive "like new" again?

Front - Compression rod, tie rod ends (inner and outer), ball joint, wheel hub, strut, sway bar end links, all bushings.
Rear - Shock, wheel hub bearing, sway bar end links, all bushings especially the differential rear bushing (recommend a urethane upgrade for the rear diff bushing).

There are quite a few bushings that benefit greatly by upgrading to urethane, the rear differential, front upper control arm, transverse link, and compression rod especially. I think Energy Suspension and Whiteline both offer an "essentials" kit for the G that has all those. However I would strongly suggest to just buy the master kit and replace EVERYTHING with urethane (rear subframe bushings optional, Z1 motorsports now offers bushing inserts as an alternative).

A full urethane bushing kit with new struts/shocks will make it perform better than stock and last longer than OEM bushings. It's a couple full weekends worth of work changing everything out but none of the work is actually HARD, for removal of the rear diff bushing I STRONGLY recommend buying the Z1 removal tool, I just did one in a 350Z this weekend for a "down the road neighbor" and didn't have my removal tool because I mailed it to a friend to use on his G and it took nearly an hour longer not having it...

Great post, thanks. At 140K, I already swapped out a lot of these parts with exception of rear bearing hubs and front end links, and most bushings Am thinking of replacing shocks/struts as well as the ride has not been the same after 100K.

Any specific master kit recommendations for G35x? I tried to search through both Whiteline and ES sites and neither specifically indicates that their master kits would fit. Would

be a fit?

Call around or PM some of the vendors here in the marketplace, they will typically get you the best deal and will know exactly what parts are for the G.

I also should suggest tie rod inner and outer, it's not suspension but if they're still the stock ones they're likely worn as well and you'll be disconnecting them anyways for some of the bushing replacemts.

After contacting 3+ vendors and receiving no reply regarding a poly bushing kit for 07-08 2008 G35x, I contacted Whiteline, Energy Suspension and Prothane engineering desks to see if they have essential or full bushings/kits for my car that would fit. All 3 told me that they have kits available for the V35 G, but can't guarantee fitment for our gen. I searched our site and aside from Energy front AWD sway bushes that fit there is no clear info on anything else. Will try searching G37 site.
