Consider taking it to a dealer as seat belts are covered by a 10-year/unlimited mileage warranty. It only covers the original owner though so it may not help you.

Reason I thought of a warranty covering this is Honda covers seat belts for the lifetime of the car, no matter the owner, and it helped me out once on a Honda I owned....

It's 2018, so unfortunately no one is covered anymore. I was the third owner and got my belts replaced free.

If the car is an '08, it's soooo close to just being out of warranty that they might cover it. If it were the original owner, I'd bet they would but if it's the 2nd, 3rd, etc owner, chances are much slimmer....

gsapdx: How did you try to "reset" it ? Have you seen the (2) different procedures in this thread ?

Yes have reset multiple times and the light comes back on. Took it to the dealer and they say the airbag sensor is out and I need to buy a new seat for $5K! Does anyone know if I buy a seat bottom can the leather cover be swapped out without a lot of effort?

I didn't think you (or they) were serious about the cost of the seat but looking at Infiniti Parts website, they show the "CUSHION & ADJUSTER ASSY-FRONT,RH" (they require them to be bought together "to guarantee function" related to the occupancy sensor. Cost: $6,185 !

I'd start looking at salvage yards or for used seats.
