So after having the car for a few days and putting about 450 miles on it she developed a high pitched squeak or squeal coming from the drivers side rear wheel. 2008 G35X 37K miles. Before I purchased it CarMax had replaced all four rotors and pads all around. This is a weird one though as the noise completely goes away by just barely pressing the brake pedal. It isn't always there however when the squeaking does start as stated pressing the brake pedal will make it disappear and turning hard to the left or right will make it disappear also.

I tried to see if there was a dust shield rubbing and it didn't appear there was. I also did a few brake stands to try and clear any debris or dust out and that did nothing either. I have been searching the forum and saw someone said this is related to a TSB for the axle nut.

Thoughts? Taking it back to CarMax on Wednesday to have them check it out.

There's only two moving parts, one is the brake caliper and the other is the wheel bearing. Since it goes away by tapping the brakes that narrows it down to the caliper

The brake caliper is also a common point of failure, let CarMax check it out but regardless of what they do to "fix" the problem the caliper will probably need to be replaced soon so shop around for a replacement if they don't do it for you. I'm guessing they will just lube up the pin to keep it quiet. Fortunately that's not an expensive part, if it's a brembo then buy the rebuild kit, if non-brembo then buy a remanufactured caliper.

The axle tsb is for this really loud "click" sound when you start moving. I don't think there were any other axle tsb's but someone might correct me.

They said something on the pads were rubbing. Shimmed the pads, removed and cleaned the calipers and re-greased the pins. Perfect now no noise and the car stops great.

Great to "hear"! Did CarMax do this fix? I hope it was done under a warranty.
